1890's corset

During my studies at RWCMD we did a week-long workshop where we learned how to make a corset.

This stylish wasp-wisted corset features steel boning and is finely corded over the bust. The bust gussets have been cut from finely corded fabric and then assembled the 3/8 in wide binding are machined on the right side of the garment and continu over the bust gussets and the 1/4 in  steel bone, passed  through the binding.

The side-front and side-back panels are machine corded and there are three bones either side of the centre back to support the metal eyelet. The side seams also have a binding carrying 1/4 in steel bone.

This is a beautiful corset: it look delicate and dainty but is actually robust in the construction.
